okay, I mean that was great but also kind of crazy! I feel like if things do turn around it's going to happen sort of suddenly and everyone will be like, "what, who ever said anything about trans women actually being women?? come on! Maybe a few whack jobs on twitter, some people kidding around on the internet, no one ever really meant it..."

There didn't even seem to be downvotes or counterpoints - everyone agreed as if it was obvious and common sense that of course trans women should not be in women's sports leagues, that was reality not any kind of bigotry, & you could fully support trans rights and still understand biological facts. Which, again, it's good to see people making sense, but it does make it feel pretty hard to trust any opinions you hear in the media or online...

I feel like it was all fun and games when they said "transwomen are women"...... until the whole thing started being applied to reality and everyday life. Then, it stopped being a fun game and everyone suddenly backpedalled into "ahahah like, no, I never said that!".

It's like that guy who trashtalks a dude in a bar, but actually denies every saying anything if the dude really stands up and walks to him.

Also, I've noticed that even in super-genderist subreddits, you can get away with posting GC opinions (like criticizing makeup or porn or choice feminism, even stuff like this). If someone calls me on my TERFism, I just act confused and well meaning but stick to my guns and get upvotes for it lmao.

It really shows that people have no idea what GC people/radfems are about, they just read we're super evil on tumblr.
