Kind of like "twaw", amirite?

I'm banned so can't comment there.

Wow, what she said could be applied to a lot of things, like required daily prayers. Makes me think of that "gender affirming care" phrase too. I don't need to look in the mirror daily and say "I'm a human female!" I just am.

Yes. A lie has to be repeated to exist.

Even if no one in the world calls me a woman, I still am one. The truth goes on being true no matter what.

Bruce Jenner, for example, is a man that people will say is a woman. The second people stop saying it he goes back to just being a regular man. Lies disappear as soon as they stop being spoken.

I always thought muslims praying 5 times a day seemed fucking excessive. Even if you believe, can't you just like give god a mental high 5 throughout your day? But it makes sense. You have to reinforce a lie constantly and not allow and opposition to be spoken if you want to give the lie power.

This is a bit off topic, but anyway. I secretly hope that while this whole TRA horseshit unravels and people see it for what it is - brainwashing - they might be a bit more critical about religions too. Not hateful, mind you: but fearlessly critical. Nobody is born a believer, they're brainwashed into it. Sounds harsh? Too bad, it's still true.

I am very biased about any religious topics due to my own past. I acknowledge that. I also detest the fact that we are supposed to (according to intersectional feminists) praise anyone who "out of their free will" gets their clits cut off, wears clothing that is nothing short of demeaning/shaming, follows a doctrine that is extremely misogynist, thinks being gay is a sinful phase that can be "sorted out..." So on.

By the way: aside from the FGM I wasn't even talking about Islam, because that's what y'all secretly thought of, didn't you. ;) The other shit happens as well, in many lovely, loving, family-oriented Christian communities. I speak of vast amount of experience, not just my own but of many people close to me. In many ways I think my past in a brainwashing environment made my "this does NOT sound right nor just" radar become very effective.

Silver linings, I suppose.

I liked that! Over the years, some of my dearest friends have been younger Muslim guys (weird, right!) and one totally dear friend is the son of an imam. No matter where we are, he has to wash his feet and do the whole ritual. He's done it in the national parks, at the beach, parking lots, on the hiking trail... It's like, WHY WHY WHY? I thought religion was about belief, but it seems to be all about practice and showing the world this non-stop in-your-face performance. Apparently they just repeat the same things over and over too. Rituals taken to the extreme are brainwashing -- change my mind! TWAW, Sex Work is Work, God is Great. All slogans on a loop.

Exactly, the repetitive rituals reek of brainwashing. They say the intention is to sort of do a regular spiritual realignment, but surely you could just take 3 deep breaths and focus for a few seconds or something? If you're doing it 5 times a day how fay off course could you possibly be getting? What, if you take your attention off god for more than 3 hours are you going to find yourself neck deep in an accidental cocaine orgy?

There’s an intersex person a few posts down thinking that they’re the center of the universe.

Apparently because he/she has xy chromes and a vulva it means that every single gender claim is wrong.

No Claudia, you’re just super special. Don’t speak for anyone else.
