Yeah our two-party political system, controlled by lobbyists, leaves a lot to be desired.

But mericans are indoctrinated from kindergarten onwards that the US is the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave" and that we have the very bestest country in the world.

And only a very small percentage of Americans (used to be under 15%) have passports, so Americans don't travel and so don't see the delightful and amazing aspects of other countries, including things like universal health care that works.
