Checking UK prison statistics, men's bathrooms can be safer place for women than unisex bathrooms.

it seems to me that to be respected you have to be violent and make people afraid of you. i mean, men couldn't bother less about having thir own bathroom, that's a female demand because we fear for our safety. and yet no one bothers them with "hey, i have the right to use your bathroom too because xyz". than you look at TIMs who threaten women with the excuse that they are TERFs because trans women have the right to use the female bathroom. i mean, c'mon! all we have to do is become what we fight against, girls (/s). many men have the nasty habbit of peeing anywhere, but in the bathroom debate they get to keep theirs and we lose ours. unbelievable!

Sounds like that’s what they want? Force us to share a bathroom with men so we can continue to be second class citizens. Once we start using it, then they’ll say that since we we’re ok using the men’s there is no need to have a women’s.

That'll be dependent on the majority men, whether the presence of women in their bathroom is offputting enough to them to complain or if they just won't care

I think the former is more likely. It's easy to underestimate how much men value and rely on their own safe spaces

If it’s decided that this is a good form of protest, I would guess that the best way to do it might be in groups and not as individuals. Or perhaps women could occupy men’s rooms to make the point that women have no bathrooms of their own except these seized men’s rooms. Men would then have to use one of the mixed bathrooms.

I don't know if making this into a group activity or an occupy thing is a good way to go. It's very confrontational, and it's not like TRAs are actively occupying women's rooms to intentionally make us uncomfortable. It might look like a disproportionate response

Plus the reward vs. resources spent in a scenario like that doesn't seem worth it. Men's rooms are disgusting, I don't know if I want to encourage my fellow feminists to hang out in one any longer than necessary

I use the men's bathroom if the women's is full anyway. I just apologize to whoever I see, gesture the other toilets are full and carry on my merry whiz.

I don't think that's a great idea. We all deserve our spaces, including men. They use urinals and should not be forced to be cool with a woman seeing their genitals.

Men aren't freaked out when women use their bathrooms, have you never been at a crowded concert hall?

I was at my city's last old-timey cinema for Rocky Horror last year and the bathrooms were "Mens" and "Unisex/Gender-rainbow."

I changed at the Starbucks across the street.

At least the men using men's bathroom in those cases won't be expecting to see women there.

I support this.

It'd create a lot of publicity, and that's all you need for now.

Maybe announce yourself first and say that you have some sort of weapon before entering. I am against guns, but if I have to start using the bathroom and locker room with men I am getting one, and I am going to openly carry it with me. I do not plan to become a rape victim, thank you.

Perhaps a knife or spray, IDK. I really would rather have something that reduces the strength imbalance as much as possible, though.

It’s usually the men’s and women’s bathrooms that are removed/reduced; that’s what happened at our local library branch. They spent a few million dollars on a huge “inclusive” bathroom remodel. The men’s room is now a tiny hidden-away closet, and there aren’t any urinals in it.

I’m honestly not sure why you think they’d listen to what non-TIM men have to say, anyway. We’re absolutely third-class citizens in the eyes of anyone advocating for gender-neutral bathrooms.

I'm not hardcore GC and bathrooms are one of the reasons. I don't care who uses the restroom as long as they keep to themselves and at least seem like they're trying to pass (no bearded dudes). I do think that ultimately more single room spaces for bathrooms and changing areas is the best way forward.
