This is not true and I would recommend deleting this post because we don’t want to spread misinformation. Here are the top owners by shares and top funds investing in Netflix: https://money.cnn.com/quote/shareholders/shareholders.html?symb=NFLX&subView=institutional

Abbott Labs is owned by more or less the same assortment of institutional investors and funds but these are all the usual suspects that invest in everything. Vanguard itself is owned by its own funds that pretty much every middle American has a piece of.

Maybe this post should stay up so anyone who comes across the same inaccurate info can see the debunking in the comments.

I’d recommend against it because some people only see headlines and don’t read comments. If anything, assuming a post title can’t be edited, I’d delete the post and make another post where the title issues a retraction/correction.

Wow that's scary. The screenshots show Global Capital Group or whatever it's called owning the most shares of Netflix, but it doesn't show how many other investors there are. I wonder what percent of Netflix they actually own? And also what percent of Abbott they actually own? That second screenshot is hard to read and doesn't list holdings in order of number of shares or percentage of shares afaict.

8.6% Netflix, 15.7% Abbott.

That is a huge exaggeration, if not completely untrue.

Capital Global Research Investors owns 8.6% of Netflix shares, and also owns 15.7% of Abbott shares. Edit: And also owns shares in many, many other companies.

Abbott does not own any of Netflix, and the holding in it that CGRI owns is unlikely to be large enough to give any editorial control.

And Abbott makes way more than Lupron and they probably don't make all the variety of meds that trans people take.

FALSE

The Capital Research Group owns 8.6% of Netflix shares. They also own 5.4% of Abbot Laboratories.

Abbot Laboratories does not appear to be directly affiliated with Netflix in any way. They are both companies that have the CRG as a major shareholder, and that's it. One does not own the other.

The Vanguard Group owns 7.9% of the shares in Microsoft. The Vanguard Group also owns 7.45% of the shares in JP Morgan. JP Morgan does not 'own' Microsoft.

I'm as disappointed as the next person (who menstruates?) in Netflix's drinking of the Woke Koolaid, but we cannot peddle misinformation like this.

Are there other sites that tell you who owns what ?
