It's a social networking app that uses facial recognition to weed men out during the automated account set up.

So, here's my recollection of what went down. Anyone else can chime in:

Sall tried to debut it to r/gendercritical.

She received a lot of feedback that the app was: a) not women-only because she was letting trans women in on purpose, b) the term "girl" was viewed as degrading or condescending by a lot of adult women, c) the word "Giggle" was offputting to women who fight to be taken seriously and d) so, so pink, which is reminiscent of gender stereotypes and the pink tax. Also e) facial recognition is creepy.

She told us TWAW and blew off our feedback.

Then she came back months later and basically said we'd been right and trans activists were bombarding her with threats.

...and now this. Make of it what you will.

The app’s privacy policy is also a cause for concern, however. As one Twitter user pointed out, Giggle can collect a ton of personal information, including peoples’ images, location, preferences, and browsing data. Giggle is able to then share that information with third-party websites and services, including facial recognition providers, chat room providers, and marketers. It also collects sensitive information including peoples’ “sexual practices or sex life,” their criminal records, and their private health information.

And I forgot how she uses "girls" instead of women.

I remember her, she is a mess. When she came back she first tried to be coy and vague until people figured what the app was.

I don't really understand this because advertisers want that coveted 18-35 male demo - women usually are chopped liver. Why make the app at all if its for women (demo that no one wants).

because the billionaire transwomen want to know who we are, so they can do an even better job of harassing us.

Advertizers want women, too. Men have disposable income to waste on stupid crap like FunkoPops, women are the ones making purchasing decisions about useful things for the household. We may not have much disposable income, but the earmarked money advertizers want to be re-earmarked for themselves.
