do you think the executive branch only has power over one judge's seat? It isn't just the supreme court but the entire judicial branch that is affected by the administration in office. That is one of the main things that the president can do.

This is no time to "pull the country left". If we lose this election, the DNC won't say, oh darn we should go more left next time - first off because believe it or not, voting for someone else isn't a clear message. Some people will vote further right. Some people will vote for no one. If you want to push things left, vote for left wing city council members and state senators and work with your local labor union. But more relevant, if we lose this election it's not clear there will be a next time.

You don't say. What was Obama's track record? Do you even know, or do you just make assumptions based on colour? How very American of you.

Hello? Anybody home? If Dem voters vote for Trump then obviously the Dem party won't think to offer anything left-wing – duh. But did I say to vote for Trump, or did I say to vote Green? If the DNC sees a substantial number of Dem voters voted Green then that'll show them that they need to compromise & offer something for left-wing voters or else continue losing.

Stop referring to the Democratic Party as "we", you were never invited. Those they respect they bribe, those they don't respect they blackmail & you have obviously been blackmailed with your "it's not clear there will be a next time" – whose fault is that btw? People who voted Hillary, instead of their conscience last time. Being forced to vote for appointed leaders is not participating in democracy. It's the same as abstaining, except it makes you feel good/influential.

More likely they were making assumptions based on political party. Also I'm looking at his list of nominees and they seem pretty good. What was wrong with them?

Not guaranteed. After Romney's defeat Republicans turned more right-wing even though most of the party establishment believed the opposite was required. In any case that would ensure the defeat of democrats in every election until this assumed change of perspective takes place in the DNC

My conscience led me to reject making perfection the enemy of good
