LAME

You only pop up to flex your cock with your new stupid dictator rules that I don't recall hearing you ask the community about.

Why don't you properly respond to the productive ideas I've pitched, like my post about filtering out the STABs that I even bothered to ping you on?

You're loosing cred man. Time to be a team player or you'll loose your franchise.

You are the ONLY person that is constantly infringing the rules regularly. You obey the rules, or you are not welcome on this website.

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (16 children)

That's a crock of shit. I'm NOT "infringing the rules regularly" at all. I only heard about this new rule recently.

1) The LXXX sockpuppets are ACTUALLY constantly infringing the rules regularly.

2) Someone else is back ban-evading too.

3) I broke the rule today, on purpose, it's NOT a regular thing, and I'm calling out the fact that you seem to ONLY pop up to give me shit.

THREE examples is NOT "the ONLY person". That's only what I've seen today. Meanwhile you give a clear pass to the ABCs (Airbus Bob3 Chipit and socks) of STABs (shills, trolls, and bots). Maybe you would prefer SaidIt behave more like them. If so, you should be clear about it and let us all know. Some folks would likely jump at the opportunity to be STABs - and some of us will leave you stuck with them.

The LXXX sockpuppets are ACTUALLY constantly infringing the rules regularly.

Yes and they are all banned instantly. Do you want me to ban you as well for breaking the rules like I do them? Because I'm actually being extremely lenient and you're abusing that again and again.

Someone else is back ban-evading too.

They were banned.

I broke the rule today, on purpose

Then I should suspend your account like I do the others, should I not?

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (14 children)

"again and again."

100% bullshit.

"Then I should suspend your account like I do the others, should I not?"

Instead, how about you respond to the valid issues raised and new ideas proposed and we can have a civil open discussion to find solutions?

Or ban me if you want to vilify yourself worse than you already appear to many.

FYI: I'd already deleted 1 of those 4 posts after your first scolding.

[–]magnora7 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (13 children)

How about you follow the rules instead of constantly whining and moaning that you're being held accountable? You already said you broke the rules on purpose, so really you should be apologizing.

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

Hypocritically ironic that you say I'm "constantly whining and moaning that you're being held accountable" when it's what you seem to do, if you even bother to discuss anything at all anymore. Meanwhile, I don't whine or moan about it - I call out your obvious shit. Including you whining and moaning about a singular new minor rule broken, one time only, on purpose in my entire 2.5 years here. I defy you to find any other rules I've intentionally broken - besides your subjective nonsense considered downward discussion as you ride my ass for crass talk that pales by comparison to what you let slide on SaidIt.

How about you don't censor my Monday protest posts? And stop riding my ass.

Or better - let's have a decent discussion about those posts and you can explain why you won't consider better, fair, open, and accountable social management systems.

Success doesn't come without a price. TAM's disastrous failure (if you can even call it a valid attempt) is an invitation to try, try again, and to fail better until the problems are minimized. If you have legitimate excuses not to try and prepare for the future, it's in your best interest to share it, publicly preferably, but in private if you must. Otherwise it just looks like a sad ego's need for control. Or, just blink twice if you're part of the establishment and SaidIt is a controlled op.

I appreciate the support and kind words.

I agree that SaidIt is his site and he is free to run it as he sees fit.

I am free to speak my mind as I see fit, even if he bans me for criticizing his secrecy, exaggerations, lack of communication, and mediocre leadership.

He did NOT build SaidIt alone, code nor community. Just because this place is good doesn't mean we can't do better. We certainly must if we are to survive any kind of future under a technocratic tyranny.

    [–]magnora7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (8 children)

You openly said you were deliberately breaking the rules, so if I was being consistent as you desire me to be, I would stop playing favorites and ban you. But instead I keep giving you passes because you've been here a while, but maybe I should stop doing that? We wouldn't have a problem if you weren't breaking the rules. And you're doing it deliberately too... what am I supposed to do, just let you break the rules however you please?

    [–]JasonCarswell[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

You openly said you were deliberately breaking the rules

I temporarily broke ONE new stupid arbitrary rule that you didn't consult nor ask the community about, that I'm aware of.

You own the site but it's OUR community. Yet you won't even talk to me unless your crawling up my ass like a Chinese swab. You'd rather fester in drama than consider evolving.

Also, full disclosure, falling asleep last night I thought of another rule that I temporarily broke a year ago or more, or maybe less - while working on my CSS themes I broke your stupid 40 subs max rule that you arbitrarily invented to suppress my "power-mod abuses". Pre-crime - except there never was and never will be any power-mod crimes from me. I've even unloaded over over half the subs I created - and ironically they're now more administration burdens for you and the community. You made a stupid rule for me then, and you made a stupid rule now. The ONLY 2 rules I've temporarily broken were made directly for me. That is NOT a coincidence. You have targeted me.

Next time, post a survey to ask the community about what they think about potential new rules. Or ask them if anyone has ideas that may help SaidIt, rules or otherwise. I would wager there might be one or two good or great ideas worth considering even if not necessarily ripe for immediate implementation.

so if I was being consistent as you desire me to be, I would stop playing favorites and ban you.

Your site. Do as you please. You already do, without being fair, open, nor accountable.

Before you ban me you should be sure to ban the ABCs for being STABs for far worse and more frequent infractions.

If you want to ban me for a single extra post that I already deleted then you are free to do so. It will NOT look good for you. In fact, the perception will be much worse than some guy having 40+ subs. Correct your priorities.

But instead I keep giving you passes because you've been here a while, but maybe I should stop doing that?

Passes for what? You've hung more than 2 strikes over my head for years and I'm STILL not even sure what they were even fucking for because you REFUSE to be clear in your "management". If you were competent by now you would have sought management assistance, advice, or training - or consulted the community.

Your threats are tiresome. Why don't we discuss WHY you won't even engage me/us in proper discourse about ANY of the ideas, alternatives, and solutions I've proposed to improve SaidIt? As much as it would be nice, I don't even want them all to be implemented. I just want to be involved, make progress, evolve, improve, and make things better where ever we can. I would hope very much that you or others might build on those ideas to make them better or offer alternatives or even superior ideas.

We wouldn't have a problem if you weren't breaking the rules.

We wouldn't have a problem if you were consistent, fair, open, and accountable - and if you weren't dramatically riding my ass like a rodeo. When you jump on it, I'm always gonna tell you to buck off.

And you're doing it deliberately too... what am I supposed to do, just let you break the rules however you please?

Your rules are NOT the issue at all whether you consciously know it or not.

You have STABs problems first and foremost. That's not on me.

You have management problems. That's not on me.

You have unexpressed problems with me. That's not on me.

You have problems with dissenters. One is me, and I have good causes that you won't even discuss much less resolve.

Be smarter, be open, be responsible, and find solutions. Obviously they need not be from me. Or, you can remain an egotistical dictator.

    [–]magnora7 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

You obey the rules and stop breaking the rules. You are in no position to demand anything of me. If anything you should be apologizing for openly breaking rules, which you still haven't done.

    [–]C3P0 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

How about posting once in the most relevant sub? I don't like seeing three of the same posts in a row either.

    [–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Me either. I ONLY crosspost if it's worthy and when it's topical to several subs, selecting the most apt. This is M7's attempt to solve the problem of not having metatags / hashtags. He came up with it and he allows it.

More critically important, even if SaidIt currently has a poor search engine and we may not have the tools yet, there's no reason all the research on SaidIt may not one day be better archived, sorted, and valued for research - especially in a darker future of censorship. With great tools that day may come, meanwhile, this is the best we have, annoying as it is. And time consuming for me too.

    [–]C3P0 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

This is a programming problem. No content should ever be duplicated. Cross-posts should be marked as such and link back to the thread in the most appropriate sub.

    [–]JasonCarswell[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

    EXACTLY!!!

Doesn't even have to be "the most appropriate sub" - just the first one posted to.

And there should be vigilance for redundancies. For example, all the same video:

    [–]C3P0 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Right, but this probably would require rewriting half the website because saidit is just reddit's code from n years ago. Just patching a cross-posting feature on top of the existing code, I'd imagine, would be a nightmare.
