And everyone in their country is probably taking it to ward off malaria, giving them a pre inoculation to the virus.

If you have been paying attention, then you should be well aware that COVID-19 mainly kills the elderly, though it can also kill younger people with pre-existing conditions. And if you know anything about the world stage, this fact should have given you pause when reading the article.

Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world with a GDP per capita of ~$650. Nearly half of their population is under 15, and less than 2% is over 65. Read the previous sentence again so that it sinks in. There are almost no elderly people in Uganda. Also, people with pre-existing conditions die early because few can afford any real healthcare.

In other words, the types of people that have any real chance of dying to COVID-19 make up only a tiny chunk of the population in Uganda. That's not even getting into the fact that they're likely not testing enough and missing a lot of deaths because of the lack of resources, or the fact that the country is largely undeveloped and ~75% of the population lives in rural areas.

That's why there are almost no recorded deaths in Uganda. It has nothing to do with HCQ, which most large clinical trials indicate doesn't work.

The elderly aren't dying from Covid. They're dying from old age and other diseases. They claim comorbidity, but with the way Covid is tested, they're not actually testing for an infection itself.
