The one where they export that coal to their owners in China? Yep, that's quite a dilemma. Their corrupt government has sold them out.

Well China's not taking most Australian exports at the moment. But they used to, yes.

So in the end. It's still China burning that coal, and not Australia.

Australia also burns a lot of coal for power generation. But certainly it used to export more to China.

But not at the moment.

It's a valid question as to whether you count the emissions associated with imports as your emissions.

Either way, Australia's emissions are much higher than just the power generation. On one hand there is a lot of coal exported. On the other there is a lot of cheaply made Chinese crap imported.

I'm sorry. I can not continue this conversation anymore because you're submission links to a pay walled article.

The climate change predictions today are just as much bullshit as the ones in the 1990's which claimed that Glacier National Park would be glacier free by 2020, when, in fact, those glaciers have grown considerably during that time. And guess what, it's the same exact people making the current baseless predictions. You've been lied to your entire life. Get over it.

... okay ...

Just clarifying your position on this:

All climate change predictions are bullshit?

There's no one getting it right, except perhaps your good self?

Remember when they banned cfc? it was global and absolute, due to a real threat...

Oh look. It's china again. Who could have guessed.

It's always fucking China, as they abuse the environment, to gain control through finance.

Yes I remember when they banned CFCs.

And they seem to be correct about that. The ozone layer has been badly damaged, and the impacts on people and wildlife have been noticed.

And yes, China's system lends itself to breaking rules, as people within or close to the party are used to being above the law. I suspect that there's not a national policy of destroying the environment, but they're certainly less enlightened than the developed nations ... (at least now that the US has some rationality to their leadership).

And I do note that the ozone damage showed up primarily in the southern hemisphere, where China wasn't directly affected. And that their over-fishing is concentrated in marine reserves a long way from China.
