When dealing with trolls, race baiters and bots on this site are we better to ignore completely or a one time engage with facts?

I'm thinking about a post form alexstein (new account about 1 month old) titled "why do white fathers let their daughters be whores nowadays?"

Clearly a shit post, what's everyone's opinion on how to deal with it? Ignore, block, comment with facts or shit post back?

I personally feel commenting with facts.(One time response, not getting drawn into a back in forth.)

u/alexstein, aka "Sneako" and u/winkot are funny enough if you assume there's a perfectly normal person behind their keyboard tapping away with a cheeky, trollish grin on their faces.

... Now, if you're picturing a genuine person who actually thinks their thoughts and lives the life they pretend to live, you'd have good reason to be worried!

I think, if they were genuinely the kind of person they pretend to be on here, you could give them facts and details for hours and hours and they would argue you back to a point of emotional response and then refuse to acknowledge anything you said based on that. I don't think it would be very productive. Just smile, pat them gently and move on with your life. :)

Shit posts like that were not allowed on saidit, but the rules are not enforced well today.
It is clearly showing that the person is not trying to contribute to the forum or to a discussion.
Just ignore, report.

Frankly, this isn't going to be a popular point, but on a forum as small as saidit you can get to know the person and understand why they are posting what they do.

Yabbit/sneako/etc is a mixed race incel who has jacked in uni and is now a bit aimless so is searching for something to do. Trolling saidit and trying to get his shit posts upvoted is a game for him. He knows if he slags off women that will get him 10 times more engagement than anything else so in a way we encourage him towards those kinds of posts. However being an incel he will be venting his frustrations in that area anyway.

Similarly many of the "actual nazis" on here are actual disabled people who haven't worked in years and fascism appeals to them because they idealise the perfect male body they don't have.

So I wouldn't worry about arguing or commenting with facts. Rather engage away from the shit posts and you will understand the root cause of their beliefs which then make them much easier to actually deal with.

Most real homicidal racists and sexists don't give a shit about reasoned arguments. They only argue to plant seeds in the minds of those observing rather than to actually make sense or solve problems. They just bide their time until they can jump on the back of a social movement which can further their aims, much like troons and peados do on the left.

you can't argue facts because you'll lose that argument. you could just ignore, but it will probably hurt your ego to know you're wrong.
