I'm glad you say no, that you will not hurt your neighbor because the "authority" tells you so. But people of all nations do this. Here is America, over the past few years Americans hurt one another because of what the "authority" said. Americans were locked down, small businesses closed, the asymptomatic were quarantined, faces covered with a cloth, nasal swabs pushed far up into the nasal cavity, harmful injections put into arms.... or they lost their jobs and benefits. And many people had adverse reactions to those shots, or died, all at the hands of their fellow citizens. This happened all over the world, because the "authority" told them so.

Are you actually surprised 95% of humanity are idiots and do whatever those supposedly in "power" tell them to? I have constantly gone back and forth in my life to ask myself if humanity really deserves freedom and democracy or not. I value and cherish freedom (liberty or financial freedom and not being in debt) more than anything, but I doubt most people do. Most people love a leader to look up to or kiss the ass of. And despite their flaws and all, at least Communist countries and dictatorships seem to be more efficient and organized than modern Democracies, where we have retards in Washington arguing "what is a woman?"

I think the elites in power and the Klaus Schwabs of the world think this, too. That humanity is inherently too stupid to deserve freedom. Which is why they constantly try to take it away from us and seize power by claiming "it's to protect you from COVID" and shit like that. The difference is, I'm still willing to hold out hope that this species of retards can get their shit in order, but I mean, damn. It's been like 5,000+ years and humanity is still a bunch of savages and morons, barely held together by a loose set of laws and societal rules that seem to be eroding as we speak. It really is like that Star Trek plot of "saving humanity under totalitarian rule, or going extinct under 'freedom'" (not that we really even still have that anymore, outside of the internet and places like SaidIt.)

I've always been mostly independent; I can't do absolutely everything on my own, but if there's a problem, I'm the first one to try to solve it, rather than wait around for someone else to tell me what to do. In my experience, most people are sheep and followers, not do-ers. And I've had an idea this has been the case since I was 11 years old.

most people are sheep and followers, not do-ers

People get the shepherd they deserve, based not on how smart they are, but based on the condition of their heart. The sheep with an evil heart get evil shepherds.

There is another group: the goats. The goats are more selfish, and even rougher with each other than the sheep.

The scriptures confirm part of what you said. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, returns to separate the sheep from the goats. And God calls us to not be only hearers of his word, but to be doers.
