They hate having to SEE the poor people because it gives them bad Feng Shui. They hate dirty poor and homeless people dirtying up the place, thats it. Haven't you ever heard of a NIMBY? This is a whole phenomenon that even wikipedia recognizes is a problem of liberal hypocrisy
