What does it mean to have something shoved down one's throat?

I've been seeing this expression in regards to discussions of woke media in general and I gotta say that shit is very confusing.

What does it mean?

to force someone to accept or like (something, such as one's ideas or beliefs) She was always forcing her opinions down his throat.

It means trying too hard to push something. Is english not your first language, out of curiosity? It's a pretty common expression.

Not my first but I am quite adept at it, just not expressions save for American movies and whatnot. I didn't really encounter the expression till I got interested in gamergate and the antiwoke media crowd.

So to clarify it's to just repeat something until one accepts it as true? Like that in church or something? Although I suspect it has something to do with being obnoxious while doing it.

Yes, it has the connotation of being obnoxious and aggressive while promoting a belief or belief system.
