Thesis: If you ain't the (paying) customer, you are the product (to be sold)

Disprove it. I'm curious.

"Prove me wrong" is 4chan level sophistication. For a more interesting discussion, it's better to make a case for your statement first.
[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun - 2 years ago* (4 children)
You know i got a case. Stating the obvious this way better fits my character since i am well better in reacting than in acting. Maybe you accept this, maybe you don't.
Concerning 4chan: One of the best places to get real nice proof if you stay in math jargon. In fact i never met a better place for these. So don't simulate a by mass-media force-fed reality in which 4chan is obsolete.
I couldn't believe it. Even if i should i won't. If you have a harness it is one of the best places.

In fact, I mean quite the opposite of that. I used to post on 4chan and had a good time there. But I was referring to what it has become over the years with the influx of less intelligent people. Since I haven't posted there in years, things may have changed. Perhaps new boards have been added where the quality is better, or some boards never had their quality reduced. But all the boards on which I used to post have been dumbed down. Surely we can agree that "/b/ level sophistication" is an applicable term. ("Prove me wrong" is, of course, a meme there.)

Even the words "meme" and "sophistication" are already taking the meta-level down.
By two to be exact.

Answer to your thesis:
Yes - re. the non-paying customer
No - re. the paying customer, who is also the product
Much of what you do on line, in public, and while carrying a phone, makes you the product - because companies want to buy data that references your movements and activities.
This is well-known. Perhaps you could AskSaidit something that's more specific.

Haha -> You believe i carry a phone.

This holds true for the experimental "VAX" as well! Nothing in life is "free", there is always a cost.
[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun - 2 years ago (8 children)
That expense is distributed to the tax-payers and via inflation from bailout, government payments, subsidies, etc.

Remember: They can print as much money as they want so please don't simplify what is happening actually there where you are hinting.
[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun - 2 years ago (6 children)
I'm not hinting anything.
I understand. If they print money they devalue it. Who suffers? The citizens under inflation.
They will also suffer the consequences of taking the the experimental injection. The depopulation agenda makes the ruling class wealthier in most ways.

Not everyone is avaristic.
Are you paid to post on SaidIt? On 4chan?
Some people are compelled to do good (and bad) things without rewards.
Some people are compelled to do good (and bad) things without rewards
I disagree with that, I believe we only ever do anything because we expect some kind of reward, but that reward can be a feeling, like of a job well done, or of helping the needy, doing something good, it makes us feel good.
Because people who do things that do not reward themselves, such as compulsively banging their head against walls, have some sort of defective mental processes.

I agree, but in the context of the OP, I don't.
SaidIt is free, our contributions are free, so are we and our interactions the customer or product?
Even headbangers' compulsions reward with actions. We get rewarded with shit from Chipit, socks, and these new turd burglars.

I'd want Chippy and Socks wherever we go tho. I think you're unduly harsh on them, both are very good contributors in their own way.

I just got called a shill yesterday on reddit. I was getting sick of all the GME dick sucking and pointed out that the company kinda sucked donkey balls. I think they're valid concerns but it was not well received.
I guess some people want to go to a sub and hear only good things. I think that's boring.
[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun - 2 years ago (0 children)
You should have said "ass balls".
If they want to hear only good things, tell them their mother was good last night.
Well that's a nice one. I remember the upper side of the double sided pyramid though so your comment doesn't apply here.
I don't understand.
So you don't. That is OK. Admitting weakness in fact makes strong people.
Not understanding cryptic nonsense is not a weakness.

Nobody has to disprove you. Your statement is so ridiculous that it disproves itself. Now go back to 4chan, kid. Adults are talking.
