Yes to the first two but I don't believe in the deep state.

secret agencies has profound and lasting effects on cultures and world affairs?

The CIA sure as shit has, not much of a secret. And all that foreign aid we give out, that's us openly affecting world affairs.

What do you think the deep state is?

What do you call people in government who haven't been elected yet have 30+ year careers in power? "Dr." Anthony Fauci is just one. He has major influence - and that's just in the field of virology. There's much more to the medical and big pharma industries, as well as food, military, natural resources, manufacturing, etc. And then there's all the intelligence and spy agencies, known and unknown. Of course there's also the countless NGOs and think tanks that are strategizing how to fuck everyone over in all nations. NONE of this happens organically on its own. MOST global events work in the favour of the ruling class. If it were natural it'd be close to 50/50, sometimes working out for the masses.

The CIA is not a secret, but it's a very secret mafia agency. EVERYTHING the "mainstream" corporate media tells us about it is bullshit - including all their heroic authority propaganda.

Lastly, I hadn't even mentioned banksters and their financial puppeteering, along with the billionaire class with a finger in all the pies. I'm quite sure there are other silent classes above the billionaires - royalty, Rothschilds, B.I.S., etc. The E.U. doesn't vote on their policies - so who makes them up? The shadow government.

What do you think the deep state is?

A shadow government like some League of Villians plotting the real path of the US from their pedo island complex?

I agree with what you're saying about unelected persons and organizations having an undue amount of power and influence. I just don't think it's coordinated.

I have family, not close, that are wealthy and powerful. Most people use what they developed or a derivitive every day. Still, as connected as they are, it's also very location specific. They wouldn't have any pull in my area or yours besides what wealth allows. They may be Lords but only in their fiefdom. People scramble for power at all levels, no way do I believe in any sort of cabal above it all, it's just too... Messy for lack of a better word.

A league of villains may be a more suitable and dramatic title, but I'm quite sure the malevolence and greed of their systemic greed-for-power-based evil is quite boring. A bunch of suits at desks writing checks to ship arms to troubled zones is not glamourous no matter how many James Bond films they make trying to spin it.

Of course it's all coordinated (with plenty of maneuvering room for the uncoordinated) in hierarchies - and with warring factions. Not just FBI vs CIA but groups of CIA vs others within the CIA, etc. EVERYONE is always trying to improve their status and influence, in all careers, so trade craft is no different. EVERYONE always has someone to answer to. Even "independent" people use banks, pay taxes, have licenses, etc, and are ultimately answerable. Those with millions or billions have screwed MANY over to get it and are thus compromised and vulnerable to anyone with even more means and a desire to control them (via prison, blackmail, endless litigation, supply/market/transport/communications rigging, media smears, dynamic silence, etc).

" They wouldn't have any pull in my area or yours besides what wealth allows. "

Then they are not remotely as powerful as those I'm talking about. If you're a billionaire in Canada and you have limited reach in Australia, you call on your Australian friends to solve it and vice versa. At those levels it's about networking. That's why the MSM Russiagate is nonsense yet there's a real uninvestigated Russiagate. Clinton, Trump, and every billionaire and globalist in the world has deep connections to Russia, China, etc.

Those with global reach would be impotent without swarms of "lords", like your distant family, with only regional influence to call upon to affect the legions of the powerless masses. Wealth allows for quite a bit. They can hire capable people to "handle things". The tricky part is knowing who those capable people are and to not be closely associated with them. That is a whole other network and aspect of the deep state. (Example: Over 80 naturapathic doctors mysteriously dead over less than a decade could have been achieved by one or two solo guys or small teams. Small but effective.) The outright evil stuff is comparatively minor compared to the corruption and controversially grey stuff or even the abundance completely "legal" yet very exploitative and harming stuff.

On WikiSpooks if you search for "shadow government" it redirects to...

https://WikiSpooks.com/wiki/Deep_state

" The deep state (loosely synonymous with the shadow government[1][2][3], or more rarely permanent government[4] or permanent state[5]) is in contrast to the public structures which appear to be directing individual nation states. It is an intensely secretive, informal, fluid network of deep politicians whose deep state milieux effectively amplify their influence over national governments. "

https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_government_(conspiracy)

" The shadow government (cryptocracy, secret government, or invisible government) is a family of conspiracy theories based on the notion that real and actual political power resides not with publicly elected representatives but with private individuals who are exercising power behind the scenes, beyond the scrutiny of democratic institutions. According to this belief, the official elected government is subservient to the shadow government, which is the true executive power. Some of the groups proposed by these theories as constituting the shadow government include central banks, Freemasons, intelligence agencies, think tanks, organized Jewry, the Vatican, secret societies, Jesuits, moneyed interests, globalist elites, and supranational organizations who seek to manipulate policy in their own interest or in order to serve a larger agenda that is hidden from the general public. "

https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_state

" A deep state is a type of governance made up of potentially secret and unauthorised networks of power operating independently of a state's political leadership in pursuit of their own agenda and goals. In popular usage, the term carries overwhelmingly negative connotations, although this does not reflect scholarly understanding. The range of possible uses of the term is similar to that for shadow government. The term 'Deep state' may refer to: "

  • plans for an emergency government that takes over in the event of a disaster, see continuity of government
  • a government run by:
    • an unelected bureaucracy or branch of the security services- see section Cases
    • a state within a state or deep state- specific examples include
      • Deep state in Turkey
      • Deep state in the United States
  • an opposition grouping in a parliamentary system (see Shadow Cabinet) especially in cases of 'ennui' experienced by a ruling party- see section Popular understanding
  • a 'Shadow government', a conspiracy theory of a secret government.
