Yeah that's the computer. It was about $400 when I got it in... 1981.

I come up with $1131, but yeah. Pretty cheap for one of the most powerful home computers at the time.

Of course, it had a whopping 16kb of memory, and you used a cassette tape (not included) to save programs. You could also buy an expansion box ($800) which you could fit with up to 64kb RAM (I don't remember what that went for), a floppy disk (ditto) and an insanely huge 5mb hard disk ($1500 or so IIRC).

I remember thinking, but who needs 5mb? What are you going to store on that, the entire world? And then what?

Nowadays you take a picture with your phone, that's 5mb. XD
