I aim to do a serious chiaroscuro and a high Renaissance painting before I die. (Instead of all the more graphic-design-ish work I do/am doing.)

In this day and age of easy photography whatever the image would be must be "important", striking, and complex - especially to consume the hundreds if not thousands of hours it would take me to get it decent. (A pro with good technique could easily cut my time in to a quarter or a fifth or more, as with all things that are better done by experts.)

Ideally I'd want it to be subversive. I have a list of my favourite ideas and concepts for paintings, but it is as mercurial as my moods.

If you have any painting ideas I'd love to hear them, and I may add the good ones to my list to try to do over the next 20 or 40 years before I croak. If your idea is really compelling I may start it sooner than later and keep you up to date on the progress. An appreciative audience makes it more fun.
