Lately we've been making a lot of changes. The site has mostly moved to the new SaidIt.net name over the last few weeks.
Subextremes or subXes will now be called simply 'subs', and we'll eventually move to subs being referenced by /s/ instead of /r/. The URL will soon be switched over from antiextremes.com, this is the last step, but all the language on the site itself been changed.
We got a new banner thanks to the generosity of our friend /u/sighbourbon. It looks great!
We've changed the functionality of the site that clicking on the main banner goes to the 'all' sub. This will help more people see all the content available. If you want to see only your subscriptions, like how reddit does for their main page, there's now a 'subscriptions' button at the top-left. New users will also be automatically subscribed to all subs, so you unsubscribe to get rid of the ones you don't want, similar to RES's "filter" button.
We also added an IRC chat channel for the 'all' sub, that shows automatically in the top-right when you're in that sub, just like every sub has its own IRC chat channel any time you're in that sub. Just click the banner, and bam there's the chat. Feel free to say hello!
Furthermore (and most importantly) we've finished the backend administrative tool functionality that was stripped out of the original open-source code. We had to research, design, and code this part from scratch. With this finally solved, we can now properly deal with any people who wish to cause trouble on the site and we're properly set up to take on more users.
Next, in case anyone missed it, I did a recent podcast interview with an old-school LA comedian Sam Tripoli, we talked about SaidIt.net and how it's set to grow. Sam really wanted to invest, haha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD_b1JA8eRA
I'd also like to take a moment and say thank you to the users who have been posting content and helping the site grow and find its voice and style. Thank you /u/HibikiBlack, /u/i_cansmellthat, /u/SierraKiloBravo especially.
Finally, we're now again looking for feature requests, so if you have any ideas for how to improve the site as it currently exists, let us know. We have made a lot of progress on our to-do lists, so if you see any obvious room for improvement, please let us know in the comments below.
Also if anyone with would like to help us out with the programming, we could use help to speed along improvements to the site. If you have significant programming experience in javascript, python, postgreSQL, and/or CSS (.LESS files specifically) and are interested in helping us out in your free time (at least 5 hours a week) send me a PM.
