When I was in Guides in the 80s, in Canada, the Badge Mother was sick one day and wanted to send her husband in her place. (A good man, as far as that goes, and familiar to the small community.) But Guiding would not allow a man to attend a Guide meeting. How things have changed.

I can't wait to see how this community comes back together, and stronger. That day I had attended a talk on women's shelters and the speaker had said the #1 thing a woman in a shelter is looking for is safety, which for most of them is women-only spaces. And then I came home and checked reddit and got a huge shock to find my favourite page (my safe space!) was gone. So the combination of the two things has me so fired up.
