Poor dude. I, like most people, never watched the film, but I remember seeing him in action and then them taking the mask off and showing a woman. It's amazing how easily your brain can take a person in a full body suit that hides their features and gender and clearly still make out what they are by their size and movement and utterly dismiss when Hollywood attempts to bait and switch.

Yeah, although Olga Kurylenko is the same height as him, 5'9", she's very much a feminine curvaceous woman who doesn't have broad shoulders, muscle density, narrow hips, or a swagger like him. Even a kid can tell that's a man's body. I suppose they filmed this before Dylan Mulvaney became a big thing; otherwise Kevin Feige would've been creaming his pants at making Dylan Taskmaster under the helmet. Worst part is, he's the character for like 99% of the movie and actually looks like the real character! Probably would've been cheaper to use him as well, instead of an actual actor/actress. But no, Marvel's gotta M-She-U and all.

It really is a shame. The movies they produce can only be enhanced by ignoring that stuff - Just do what the comic books did, and people will be more forgiving. When you aren't directly showing them that the agenda is more important than the art or the material, you instantly dismiss a good portion of the people who would have attended otherwise.

I thought Black Widow was fine. Not the best Marvel movie, but perfectly acceptable, it had a decent story, the lead actors did a fine job, especially Florence Pugh, the action was solid, and the "still fits" scene with Red Guardian was funny.

If the first Avengers movie was a solid A+ I'd give Black Widow a B. I don't understand the hate for it, especially given how many people love Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.
