The first meal of the day doesn't always have to be breakfast.

I have a disagreement with my wife about the first meal of the day. If I wait until around 11:00 am to eat, then I consider that lunch. I have missed/skipped breakfast. My wife would rather eat a traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc.) and skip lunch. I have eaten traditional breakfast meals for dinner before and have had less traditional meals for breakfast, such as salad, salmon, cold-cut sandwiches).

Intermittent fasting is healthy. Also, if I start eating at 11.00, I consider it brunch. It's kind of its own thing, since I eat slightly different things that would normally fall under breakfast, but it's a more extensive meal.

I have done the same for a long time. I didn't wake up early enough to make breakfast. Stuff to buy is usually very unhealthy. And when I was going in to an office, I didn't want stuff in my teeth first thing or mess with taking a toothbrush. Given the nature of things in the US, I could easily believe a conspiracy theory that the whole "early breakfast" BS was promoted to push a bunch of largely low-grade junk food that served agribusiness.
