They might just not believe the anthropogenic aspect. It's another topic where there's really only one 'acceptable' position if you just go by general consensus, but I bet that the vast vast majority of people have not attempted to view the topic in an intellectually honest way - i.e. what do detractors of AGW argue, what is their evidence, is that evidence compelling, etc.

Due to retard climate protesters it made the whole movement look bad, just like the LGB people are having issues with the LGBTQ+ movement and is making the whole group look bad.
Climate change is a very real issue and you can change little things in your life and already do a big impact. Start with your purchasing choices, what companies you buy from.

I have not spent enough time taking evidence from both sides of the argument to really form a stance on the issue. I suspect that most have not even considered doing so

The stance is pretty obvious: climate change is real and we should do something about it.
The only talking points should be: what should we do about it? Should we force people to do certain things because of climate change? Should we try and change lifestyles of people? Should we regulate companies to adhere to certain standards for climate change?

Virtually everyone agrees that the climate is changing. Not all agree that humans are causing it. If humans are not causing it, then a hands-off approach seems best.

If climate change is changing for the better, then hands-off. If it's changing for the worse, then we need to take an approach to it. Just like humans take care of species near extinction so other species don't annihilate them.
By the way, I do think we are causing climate change. Just look at the numbers starting with the industrial revolution.

Which numbers? Should we consider how those numbers were gathered?

I think Earth's temperature is a good metric

I think you're picking on the details lol
The general idea is: the planet is or will die if there isn't counter action made by society in general. The point of discussions should be what we are willing to compromise on and real solutions.
And there is even money in this industry. Mr Beast and Ellon Musk (with tesla) are people I know made a ton of money by making eco-friendly products.
