Fire play is different.
I've been to Burning Man 10 times.

When was the last time you went? And what do you think of the smaller regional burns, ever been to one of those?

I went '99 to '08 and was very active in BM when I lived out there and in regional communities all over: New York, SF, Oakland, Austin, Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto, Ottawa, and more - until 2011. Too many events to count. Animation/filmmaking and Burning Man were my primary interests. Smaller and larger are very different burns, just as regions vary. It all comes down to the community and how much you put into it. Just show up and you'll have a superficial time - and that's fine. Go deeper and get rewarded too. Much like life - but where you have the opportunity to invent or re-invent your experience rather than have it promoted to you to consume.
