    I'm highly skeptical of the media. Not to bash this boy, but are we sure they're not talking him up to sell a certain narrative?

    It's tragic, but if a black youth was trying to get into your place (by some accounts), you were old and feeble, and you were aware blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crime, well... I can understand how the guy would be scared for his life.

    I think it's telling the boy had to go to three different homes for help. Are these people all terrible racists? That seems unlikely to me. So if they're not, there's something about this kid that frightened the neighbors.
