The police here in victoria once told us hunters to not hunt the pigs anymore because there were so many and they were out of control that they were now a physical threat.

Dumb ass retards.

why don't people eat them? aren't they just wild pork? i would think they might be good to eat, except for how ugly they are..

Ignoring all the reasons the suburbanites talk about, the main reason is just the parasite count and sometimes the big older boars stink too much for some people. Even the ones with parasites, as long as you take the right parts, freeze the meat and cook it properly, it's perfectly fine to eat.

The biggest issue in australia is that hunted meat is pretty much illegal to sell. We have an unlimited supply of pigs, kangaroos, rabbits, goats, deer and horses that are pests and all except the roos are invasive. Yet the government is now protecting invasive species, despite causing ecological damage.

TLDR, people dumb.

people like to be superstitious about certain foods... like how many people simply won't eat pork, when in fact i can promise you that sizzling fried thick cut bacon with fried eggs and hash browns and coffee is a breakfast fit for a king.

i don't really know what i am talking about, but i am betting that those ugly and violent creatures will fry up into some awesome bacon bacon bacon and ham and i bet that meat would rock in a crock pot. I can't imagine why we are not making use of this unlimited supply of meat.

or did the current politicians decide that it is a crime to eat them, ffs.

i am seriously betting that if we were to kill one and cut him up, i know they would fry up nice with potatoes and pie and fruit and vegetables.

i am getting hungry to eat a wild pig.

i am sure they are delicious.

when people are starving, like the people in haiti that they say they eat dirt... i bet they would enjoy slicing up these pigs.

Shalom.

A little running joke I have around here is that I have had my hand up the arse of about 300 animals, as that is about the number of animal carcasses I have slaughtered and/or prepared.

Wild pig is different to normal pig. But you can usually tell which pigs aren't worth eating before you have even shot them. And in recent years I have taken a note of a large increase in parasites in all the wild animals we have hunted. I believe the lack of hunting and over population are causing them to be more wide spread. So extra steps are always needed in freezing and cooking hunted meat. Other wise it's the same.
