To me being specifically proud to be white is as useless a concept as being ashamed to be white. My take is that I'm proud of the accomplishments I've made. I'm also proud of the accomplishments other friends and family have made before me, because they in turn drive me to live up to their examples. My personal take is: if I'm going to be proud, I'll be proud of something I've actively built myself to be.

This being said, by that measure Shaun King should be very proud to be a black male.
