Some Republicans are still simping for the long dead Reagan view of the US, where we were a "shining city on the hill", that had values and a common purpose.

They haven't acknowledged that that country has been dead for a long time, and has been replaced with one that actively hates them, yet is still willing to use them as cannon fodder.
