This past summer, I decided to take a break from work and took the family on a road trip through 12 U.S. States. It was loosely planned, so we stayed at hotels along the way wherever and whenever we were ready to stop for the night. We stopped at restaurants that seemed to serve local flavors. One thing that my wife and I talked about once we got back home was how friendly everyone was. It was just "people". There was no political division, cultural gatekeeping, or cold shoulders to outsiders. No one cared who we voted for, how much money we had, how we keep a home, or what we thought of Covid-19. This is what the media doesn't talk about. The media is profit-driven and uses sensationalism and division to keep viewers tuning in in order to sell advertisement spots. For people like us who are always searching to learn, this can wear us down and put us in the wrong mindset. I personally turn off the news for at least a week at a time when I find myself losing faith in humanity from this constant "preaching". It is always a refreshing re-set for me and allows me to get back to what really matters.
