    I would not have had her take revenge necessarily if it was up to me. I have no problem with Muhammed. It isn't reasonable to rip the whole episode out of its context. Morality was different at the time. Muhammed had been dishonoured by someone from that village, which was one of the worst things that could happen to someone, and this was his retaliation. Note that what he did was part of life in the ancient world; it happened more often. I'm not defending it, but I don't think it's something people have to get angry about.
