If the society in Star Trek's Federation is "socialist", how do they still have private property and commerce? 🤔

To me, they are far better described as a welfare state on steroids.

If communist Russia or China had replicator tech do you think they would freely hand it out to everyone so they could make whatever they wanted and not have to depend on the govt anymore? Do you think they would risk the people making guns to protect themselves from enslavement?

I don't believe in democratic socialism, because the only places where it worked (sweden, norway, denmark, finland, iceland) were ethnically and culturally singular. Democracy doesn't mean anything, unless it is done by people with unified vision. For this reason alone multi-ethnic societies always fail

I didn't much care for Bla̯̪̱̝̙̭̰ͬͪ̇͑̋ͪ̑de Runner 2049. I'm more of an Escape from New York™ man myself.
