I haven't lost anyone really, but it's become more and more difficult to discuss issues with nuance since all this started -- not just the riots, but the rona as well.
People are so scared right now that they're clinging to anything that gives them a way out. But that means that they have less and less patience for self-reflection and examination in any capacity beyond a binary one. With some people I know, you can't point out Biden's deteriorating mental state, or the odd patterns of COVID -- and especially how the media and medical community flip-flops CONSTANTLY on what/who's being an acceptable citizen -- or even the blatant quasi-communistic elements that either hijacked BLM or were with it from the start.
I refuse to believe that people can't see some of the odd points and faults in these things. It just makes me sad that they're so incredibly terrified that any discussion beyond "A good b BAD" is next to impossible now.
