Destroy evil

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

God will intervene and those of us who are faithful shall see the evil destroyed. But the antichrist must rule the world for a short time. And it will be an awful time of great tribulation. But the victory has already been won through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

So you support the Antichrist, because after he takes over Jesus can take over? Please point me to where the Bible says this.

When I say "it will be an awful time of great tribulation", how could that show support for the evil of the antichrist?

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:” 2 Thessalonians 2:8

if i hadn’t adopted my 2 year old cat who had just been illegally bred for kittens by the shelter she would have been destroyed. you could perhaps make the case that god commanded me to adopt her and therefore intervened, but common now.

The decision to adopt your cat was an act of compassion and kindness, not necessarily a divine intervention.

Adopting a cat was a compassionate choice, not a matter of fate or divine intervention. It was a conscious act of kindness and responsibility.

Sure it is. But that ends when you have to confront evil. Like someone trying to do harm to you and yours.

If you knew that God is in charge of protecting us and avenging us against our enemies, you would receive his peace.

When soldiers heard the message of God, they asked John the baptist, "And what shall we do?" And he answered them:

Do violence to no man.

Accuse no one falsely.

Be content with your wages.

He didn't tell them to quit being soldiers. But he told them to quit doing violence to their fellow man, quit accusing them falsely, and be happy with the pay they received.

Luke 3:14

God didn’t protect her too well. I hope you don’t travel to Little Rock….cause those beasts will tear you up. At least on your tombstone we can write “Do violence to no man..let them do it to me.”

I am not interested in watching people die, so I will not watch that video.

God does not protect everyone. He protects those that trust in him.

You told me you were a Christian. Do you have faith or not? If you don't want to trust the Lord to be your Protector, you are on your own, but he already warned you, and again now: Those that shed the blood of men, by man shall their blood be shed. Genesis 9:6

ok, so third world countries simply lack faith? whenever evil raises its hand to strike an innocent down it is simply due to a lack of faith?

you’re fucking insane dude. please know that.

Religious beliefs do not justify or excuse evil actions. Lack of faith is not the sole cause of societal issues in third world countries.

I agree with this. We should never be evil regardless of religion. Lack of love is the root cause of all societal problems. When men no longer love their neighbors as themselves, then society breaks apart.

Indifference and hatred breed societal ills. Love and empathy are the antidotes to societal decay.

This is true. How would America be different today if it had loved its neighbors, the peoples of other nations, instead of making war against them?

[–]pocketpool 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

If America had prioritized love and cooperation over war, the world would be a vastly different place. Nations would likely be more interconnected, economies more intertwined, and cultures more diverse and vibrant. Global challenges like climate change and poverty might be better addressed through collaborative efforts. Instead of fearing and mistrusting one another, people might see themselves as part of a global community, working together for a better future.

I’m a peace through strength kind of a guy. The Lord tells me the ideal way to live a life worthy of Jesus. But evil exists. And evil only understands evil. So I have to walk the path best I can. But I also have to be ready and able to respond to evil when necessary.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

evil only understands evil

And revenge only knows revenge. Unless you break free from thinking as the evil think, you are stuck in an endless downward spiral.

If you believe in the Lord, then believe his instructions: Do not be overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

[–]GuyWhite 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, more like the potential for revenge stops evil.
