    Yeah so many things are looking to add up to food shortages. My mom even got a second pantry going of food items that she'll use but that also keep 2+ years. Worst case you just donate it all to the homeless in a couple years, or throw it in the trash 5+ years from now. Small price to pay to have long-term food security in this "just in time" supply chain market that is quite obviously collapsing because of its fragility. People need to be prepared because a completely disrupted supply chain could take a year or more to normalize, if lots of food we used to import suddenly has to be grown domestically.

    Yes, it's definitely part of what is creating the shortages
