I started tinkering with chatGPT a couple weeks ago and as a relatively non-technical end user was pretty impressed once I started to get a practical understanding of how to feed it prompts effectively. Along comes an invite from google to use their AI that is built into google docs, I am assuming that its Bard underneath. Anyways, about a week after I got the invite, I finally received access. I went into the google docs app and asked it to do something which chatGPT handled like it was nothing (write a short article on human rights) and google docs shit itself. Responded with a message, "Danger Will Robinson, Danger! we are not able to complete your request at this time!!!!" kind of paranoid sounding message. Anyways, I wasn't impressed. I think that experience links back to what this guy is saying, that these big players are too unwieldy and bureaucratic to compete, especially of their processes are getting leaked. They're moving way too slow and are going to get left behind, due to the fact they're being driven by their legal departments, more than anything else.
