I'm amazed people will use an encrypted email service then still go and slap a crappy program like outlook onto it because they can't be arsed to log in on a browser.

Is only encrypted if you send email to another internal address. i.e. protonmail address to protonmail address, etc..
use the following search parameters to narrow your results:
e.g. sub:pics site:imgur.com dog
sub:pics site:imgur.com dog
advanced search: by author, sub...
