you ever hear about making mountains out of molehills?
well this is that.
linux can't flip a switch and stop all linux distros from working.
also, even if they could, someone would step up and replace the component that was removed. that is the beauty of open source.

But certain components might take a while to reimplement, especially if they get all lawyery and have someone code it who has never seen the open source implementation?
I agree that it's still a molehill and will probably remain that way.
