I'm not sidestepping anything. I'm not disagreeing with you that there are serious problems. I'm providing greater context and explaining the manufactured circumstances of Black lives and communities, not excusing them. Don't blame a dog for biting while you beat it. Those are very harsh realities, and I remain healthy and safe in my mostly White neighbourhood with my view of Detroit just across the river, where I haven't been in over a decade. Not for racial issues. But there certainly are unsafe parts of Detroit you will never ever find me visiting.
