They tried to launch human remains, including those of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, on a rocket to the moon. The mission failed. It appears that all of the "participants" burned up over Australia.

The participants — as they are called by Celestis, one of the memorial spaceflight companies involved in the mission — were in capsules that were set to “remain on the lunar surface
