a test ?

yes good to test them before they have expensive cargos or passengers

i recall they launched something like 300 minuteman missiles in tests way back in 60s to perfect the mechanism

it IS called Rocket Science for a reason (check out the history of the V2)

They would be glad for you to relinquish all rights to using a small automobile that burns fuel. Meanwhile they dump their much larger amount of fuel into the gulf of Mexico. Those rockets carry a lot of fuel!!! They need lots of fuel, for their tests, and for their other trips to space.
