When the people realize how badly they've been deceived, the deceivers will move on to the next deceit and the people will accept there's no time to freak out because they will have to get in line for the next top-down atrocity. Anyone who can see through the BS already sees through it. The idea that you "go down with a fight" is OK by the monsters who rule over us. They are OK with killing off anyone who questions their authority over us. They've always played a very long game, this tactic will make it a short game.
