You may know an extremist and not even realize it, report thought crime today!

I think this is because they're facing lawsuits for allowing incitements to violence and hate speech over the years. Reclaimthenet.org is spinning this in a stupid direction, as if it's arbitrary big tech gatekeeping, so that the hate groups who LOVE reclaimthenet.org's free speech options will see this they way they want to, rather than according to the reasons for Facebook's concerns. Since early April, Facebook had restricted numerous posts, referring to them as spam, but because this is managed with an algorithm, numerous non-spam items are hidden and the users warned. It's a shitshow, by the Muslim Civil Rights group, Facebook, and reclaimthenet.org.

I have a hard time caring about Facebook, but for the sake of free speech I hope they tell the muslims to stick it and stop trying to police their members at all. I know we disagree on that, but this is this is starting to really concern me that not only are the younger generations for censorship, they're eager and passionate for opposition to be silenced. That's a double edged sword though. Back when liberals cared about free speech it was so then marginalized groups like gays could speak out. The political tides change, this may be censorship for what you want now, but someday, and maybe in the very near future, the shoe will be on the other foot.

I absolutely agree. It's also rather serious that religious groups who are not effectively trying to reduce the extremism in their own ranks (Muslim, Jew, Christian &c) are - it seems - spending more time trying to restrict the speech of others (even in their own religions), which in my view is another form of extremism. Perhaps to make this point, there should be a day when thousands of people post Charlie Hebdo Muhammad portraits.

My bad, I thought you were against hate speech and by extension free speech.

You're right that I'm against some forms of hate speech. Whereas the state cannot realisticaly legislate morality, the state would naturally "promote the general Welfare," per the US Constitution.

At least most muslims take their religion serious.

Fair enough, but I'm not sure that's a good thing.

    What do you actually believe?

Because other than some low-level complaining from a very small soapbox i really can't recognize any information in your comment. Even though i tried.
