Why kids love 'fascist' cartoons like 'Paw Patrol' and 'Thomas'

fascism is human. Boundaries and order make children feel safe. And Paw Patrol doesn't really fit the idea of punishment. Mayor whateverhisnameis is a truly bad guy. He cheats and steals and lies and the pups and Ryder are always kind and polite to him. Its quite odd.
I feel that the show is more setting up children to be comfortable with rampant corruption in council / government.
EDIT. it is also interesting the Strauss, the writer of the article, suggest retaining the authoritarian nature of the shows, but gender swapping the cast. As she puts it "so there is no longer a white guy on top". Sound familiar?

What definition do you like to use?
I generally go with the pre-war Italian (authoritarian) and German versions, but the meaning of the word has been changing constantly since the war and the related atrocity propaganda.
Happy to work with your definition, and rephrase my words in that context

Ok, that's the authoritarian Italian version for sure.
If you want to use that version, that's fine. Can't say that that fascism sits easy with me, as it has the same sins as communism - it pretends that individuals in power are perfect.
