Ah, hind sight is always 20-20. Pure and simple - the Federal Reserve was created to stabilize the banking system after the 1907 financial crisis. Nothing nefarious about that act of Congress. A perusal of the economic histories of countries around the globe quite clearly shows that a strong central bank ensures a strong economic and democratic country.
