I wonder what the results would be if Americans were polled on degrees of support for the rigging if it cheated a candidate that they've been media-radicalized to hate.

It's notable that people seem open to denying constitutional rights and due process to those who hold opposing political views so a mass realization of election rigging doesn't mean that they oppose the shenanigans.

They know it was rigged and a lot of them, especially our own Dalits (untouchables) voted 90% for President Feces.

Yes, it seems like we've shifted from a culture of everyone doing their best, to a culture of everyone realizing everything is broken and trying to scam everyone else before it breaks even more

People seem to have become brainwashed into supporting the denial of basic human and constitutional rights for those with whom they disagree. They don't seem to realize that those denials will inevitably extend to them once the people who might otherwise defend their rights are out of the way.

They see that it's not being applied evenly anyway, so they decide to abuse the system for their benefit, instead of being abused by others doing the same. So it becomes a race to the bottom. And those refusing to participate get screwed the most, which logically causes more to join in the bad behavior. It's a feedback loop. This is how empires collapse.

That was in April, and the survey question implied that the Trump Administration's people and associates helped with the insurrection. This is a fact, and the general public has been informed of the way in which security personnel helped some traitors get into the Capitol Building and Pentagon officials followed Trump's ordered NOT to send miliary support.

For more info, see the May survey:

Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans, as well as 57% of both Democrats and unaffiliated voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the Capitol riot. [because of the available reports on this]

Forty-seven percent (47%) of all Likely Voters believe the special congressional committee that investigated the Capitol riot did a good or excellent job, while 38% rate the special committee as having done a poor job. While 66% of Democrats rate the so-called J6 committee as having done a good or excellent job with its investigation, only 26% of Republicans and 47% of unaffiliated voters share that opinion. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Republicans give the J6 committee investigation a poor rating, as do 20% of Democrats and 40% of unaffiliated voters.

More whites (34%) than black voters (11%) or other minorities (22%) give the J6 committee an excellent rating. Majorities of every racial category believe it is important that all the video from the Capitol riot be made available to the public. Likewise, majorities of every group – 61% of whites, 62% of black voters and 64% of other minorities – think it is at least somewhat likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the Capitol riot.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of self-identified conservative voters say it is Very Likely that [Trump Admin's] undercover agents helped provoke the riot, compared to 18% of moderates and 26% of liberals.

And they had dominion voting systems, who shut down and deleted all their software a day after the election?

Define "find out". Most of us knew on election night and the morning after. Like most of the stuff that's been called out, we keep getting more and more evidence, but nothing ever comes of it.

      [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I did not say find out. Lol.

      From https://www.npr.org/2021/11/01/1050291610/most-americans-trust-elections-are-fair-but-sharp-divides-exist-a-new-poll-finds

Overall, 58% said they trust elections in the country either a great deal or a good amount.

But while almost 9 in 10 Democrats and 60% of independents said so, just a third of Republicans agreed.

There were also big gaps by education. There's a 19-point gap between college-educated and non-college-educated on the question, and an even wider chasm among whites with and without college degrees.

Seventy-two percent of whites with degrees said they had trust in elections, while less than half of non-college-educated whites said they did.

Education isn't what it used to be. White collar workers who are generally more educated are experiencing higher unexpected deaths than blue collar workers. The latter were more skeptical and less likely to take the covid shot. Seems like modern education is negatively correlated with intelligence.

In an undemocratic system like the US (de facto a two party system), the party who you vote for can just as well not be a secret, which would allow correct counting and elections to be done in a minute.

Because elections can be rigged, they probably are.

      [–]Dune1032 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Explain how elections can be rigged in the US. There is no evidence of the 2020 elections being rigged despite the claims of Trump.

      [–]binaryblob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

If the flaws in the voting system were analyzed as well as the security in your web browser, I am sure there would be horrendous flaws. The voting machines for a long time could be hacked in 15 seconds.

One simple reason for why rigging is possible is that no single person can even explain how the process works because "The process of counting votes and certifying election results differs from state to state.".

If it's so complex, it just means the attack surface (and risk) of elections just exploded. Instead of having to prove that 1 process is secure, there are now 50.

Take an article like this: https://usafacts.org/articles/how-are-votes-counted/ and notice there is no way to actually know the process in detail.

According to https://act.represent.us/sign/how-votes-are-counted "Canvassing is the process by which officials verify, process, and count every single ballot before including them in the final election result. State laws ensure security, specifying everything from who participates in the canvass, to when it starts and ends, what information it contains, and what is open to the public.

Like everything else about U.S. elections, canvassing varies by state and even locality. "

So, it's all so incredibly vague that you would have to be a gigantic moron to believe that such an overcomplicated system can ever be secure.

You asked for how it can be rigged and I am not going to tell you that, but if you apply standards of information security to elections, it's obvious that there is no reason to expect that a count will ever be accurate.

If you actually want to rig elections, just hire 500 security researchers and 50 lawyers and have them document the operational security of every voting location, the voting protocols, and the applicable laws. The exchange of voting information from one location to a more central location is often done via computers, that are often even physically badly secured.

If the intention were for voting to be secure, the first result on a search engine would spit out exactly how the process is supposed to work. In fact, another way to attack the system is to exploit the ignorance of the people manning a voting station. If you become chair of the voting location, you could exploit the ignorance of the others with their natural trust people have in the senior person.

I wasn't implying the elections have been rigged, I was just saying that there is no reason to assume they haven't been. Not even taking the time to document the most important process in a state, is negligent and suspect. It suggests the value of democracy is zero.

Claims by Trump that the 2020 election was rigged have been debunked. See https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/09/15/2020-election-trump-false-fraud-claims/

      [–]binaryblob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I am fairly sure there is documented evidence that Trump was the one attempting to rig the elections. So, despite him losing, the elections were still rigged. At least, my state media showed Trump's conspirators attempting to interfere with the voting process with video evidence, which is also why Trump is being prosecuted.

      [–]Dune1032 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

He wasn't attempting to rig the election but overturn it. The fact that he was stopped shows that democracy in the US is working.

      [–]binaryblob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, a real democracy in the US would mean that there would be about 70 different political parties in Congress. Just compare with other democracies where you can see a trend of the number of parties increasing. Yes, this might in time result in a situation where nothing can be agreed upon anymore, but that would be a real reflection of interests in society, since hardly ever people can agree on anything.

Most of the American population would do better for themselves if they would vote for some socialist party, since both the Democrats and the Republicans are for people with incomes >$250,000. I am not saying that I endorse such parties (don't even know the names if they exist, but if it were a real democracy those would have meaningful representation).

There are recording of Trump asking some people to "recount" (which meant rigging the election in that context). Those calls could have been faked, I don't know, but apparently my local state media thought it was credible enough to run it, because it's part of his legal case.

See also Wikipedia's entry for Rasmussen Reports:

In 2018, Rasmussen Reports predicted that Republicans would win the generic ballot by 1 percentage point while the actual election results had Democrats winning by nearly 9 percentage points. This error of nearly 10 percentage points was the largest polling error out of major firms who polled the national generic ballot.

      ...

FiveThirtyEight gave the firm an overall rating of "B", reporting it had a 1.5-point bias in favor of the Republican Party.

      ...

Jonathan Chait of the New Republic said that Rasmussen is perceived in the "conservative world" as "the gold standard" and suggested the polling company asks the questions specifically to show public support for the conservative position.

The reaction of the press and the administration shows you it was rigged.

You don't go around trying to silence everyone saying it was rigged, if it was a fair election.

Think of it this way. If I accuse you of stealing $100 from me, and you didn't actually do it, you would be like whatever dude. But if I accuse you of stealing $100 from me and you really did it, you'd be like..."Shut up! Shut up! How do you accuse me of stealing from me! Someone silence him!!!"

Their reaction to me, shows you they are 100% guilty.
