I thought alt-right was invented by the far left during the Trump years in order to describe groups of people who were not real right wing but were fake right wing. Example Richard Spencer.

It was our own term, to describe rightists who were in opposition to the GOP, capitalism, boomer conservatism, religious-based politics etc. At the beginning it was basically a coming together of manosphere, HBD (human biodiversity), neoreactionary, self improvement, conspiracy, fascist/national socialist, white identitarian etc groups. Basically anyone who was not a mainstream right voter but would be considered right wing in some way. Now most of these are oppositional to the actual alt right (pro-white, anti-semitic, illiberal, anti-capitalist) and most of them have become absorbed into the mainstream right.

Because you're a dumbass, people were calling themselves alt right since 2008, almost an entire decade before Hillary Clinton said it. It's quite hilarious how you believe your ignorance of something's existence must mean it simply never existed. What kind of retard could ever believe such a thing? LMAO bruh
