Amassing how we can get different story's depending on where we go, here the Taliban are using the equipment the US left behind but here it says they cant.

Yes - most helicopters were disabled and seriously damaged, has shown in videos. The Taliban will try to repair them, as may have happened with the UH-60. It's not armed.

Yes I read what Gen. Frank McKenzie said at a press conference, yet he never explained why there was videos of the vehicles looking as good as new. He said they used thermate grenades to destroy key components of the equipment . As a vet myself I know how the US government will BS people so time will tell.

Yes - I think the military PR offices in most countries create misleading narratives. I did not see McKenzie, but I did see on the BBC a large number of disabled helicopters and small planes in a hanger. Holes had been blown into some of them, and parts removed or destroyed for others, but I did not see evidence of burns from thermite grenades. Perhaps I did not look close enough.

After the failed Vietnam war the US left military equipment behind and General Frederick Weyand, Henry Kissinger and President Gerald Ford said they destroyed everything. In 1990 I with a grope of other vets returned and saw the so called destroyed equipment, my tank was used to finishe of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. Go look on YT and you will see military equipment ready to use. And the same videos was seen days after the US left.

Yes - I would think this has happened in every modern war. The Taliban are special in this context, because the US has supported them from (supposedly) 1978 onward, and especially since the time of the the Reagan Admin: https://www.vox.com/world/22634008/us-troops-afghanistan-cold-war-bush-bin-laden

Thanks for reminding me, the US did provide millions of dollars and who knows how much military equipment back when USSR was at war with them. And even the USSR lost that battle so America should have know better than try to fight them.

Well never fight with someone better than you, US should have learned. They lost both Korean and Vietnam wars.

Looks like a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk, which is merely a medium-lift utility helicopter.

It's not an S-70A with a weapons launching platform (to hold Hellfire missiles &c)
