Big media and big tech are enemy #1 of the USA. They all need to be destroyed. Do your part by boycotting and divesting in these companies. Cancel subscriptions, delete accounts, boycott services.

I literally had to sit through 8 years of documentaries and articles about how evil and corrupt it was for TV stations to call elections under Bush. Now apparently it's fine.

Besides, they're late. Trump already called it.

Except they did; and if Biden is sworn in January 20 simply because the media called it you can accept their power or fight against it

Frankly that might be the safest options looking at how the left are reacting today and how they will act if it's taken away from them.
Literally multiple "We defeated the most evil dictator ever... by voting him out" in my timeline. People saying they haven't felt safe leaving their house for 4 years. No actual threat to them, just fear. Talking about being stressed everyday not knowing what Trump might post on twitter.
If they think they have just been saved from tyranny many won't willingly go back into it. They aren't engaged with reality right now. I can definitely see some of them turning violent if the allegations of fraud have any substance. It will likely only hurt them though because it'll be the government they attack and the machinery surrounding the presidency defends itself unlike libraries and small shops in provincial cities.

They don't get to determine the winner, but that's not what "call" actually means in this context. All they're saying is enough EC votes have been collected to determine a winner, and when that's what has actually happened, yes they absolutely can state that fact.

Biden just lost Michigan after a supreme court intervention. The vote isn't decided nationally yet.

The democrats waited until "in-person" voting was over, and then they got a list of all registered voters that had not voted and they voted for all of those people.
anybody can win an election this way.

Really? So why didn't the GOP do it?
So how does this work... the GOP thought of gerrymandering, closing polling locations, cancelling voter registrations, robocalls and other disinformation, but they didn't think of that little trick?
[–]AmbroseBierce 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun - 4 years ago (2 children)
"Gerrymandering" has no bearing in Presidential elections, and is simply a buzzword for the uninformed masses.
Districting, which is a non-partisan term for it, simply determines House representation, and the allocation of funding.
For the love of God, please learn basic civics.

I should also point out that Maine and Nebraska divide their electoral votes by congressional district. Republicans in at least 2 more important states have tried to get that approach going in their state.
So Republicans have tried to gerrymander the presidency, and probably continue to do so.
For the love of God, please know what you're talking about before you try to sound informed.

This is where it gets good. The House/Congress votes on who the President will be. It has nothing to do with what party that has power. Every State gets one vote and 30 States are held by Republicans.and 20 by Democrats. They have to vote down party lines, they have no choice due to the 12th Amendment of the Constitution and the Senate votes for the Vice President where a similar event will take place.
