I am continually fascinated by this assertion that the United States is, or ever has been, a democracy.

Well that's what we're all taught from day 1 in school, and since we're all taught it, it's reconfirmed by our parents and everyone around us and becomes "reality", to the people who believe it.

In situations like this one especially, Robert Kennedy Jr. is using it as part of his talking point so the majority of people can grasp the gravity of what he's trying to say (Democracy is why we're so free, according to what we're taught in school!). Regardless of whether you've entered the rabbit hole/prefer your news from the MSM or not, you can understand the point RK Jr is making because of the wording he's using.

But I understand what you're saying, and agree with you.

His voice warms up within a couple of minutes of talking.
