And stop the uneven funding of their efforts. America overpays everywhere. I'd like to see other countries contribute more, and America use the money for our own problems.

Completely agree, and that story doesn't surprise me one bit. Everyone looks at our tax system as free money. Would be hilarious if everyone decides to stop paying into it. Let the leeches fend for themselves for once.
Just like that Iranian guy, I have family that live, generation after generation, by leeching off the government. They all live middle class lives and have TONS of possessions, since they can't keep a bank account balance or their money gets cut off.

Wow, congrats on getting back on your feet! And sober if that's the case too. I'm sober myself. Many years on opiates and booze.
But that's absolutely insane about the back pay thing. I've never heard about that before. I also know that the more you have worked, the higher the SS pay is. I got a statement recently that said I would get somewhere around 2k if I got disabled. Not bad if you have a spouse doing the same, you both work under the table, and you live outside the major shithole cities. Easy middle class life, even without working under the table, in the cheaper states.
